For clients

Talent Bookings.

01.01 Can I book models or talent through MRPD now?

Yes. Client casting and talent enquiries are open now while the public MRPD Models roster is being built.

You do not need to wait for the directory to launch. Send the project, dates, location, talent requirement, usage and budget through the talent brief and we can start from there.

01.02 What kinds of talent can I enquire about?

MRPD Models is being built around fashion, beauty, lifestyle and commercial work.

Clients can enquire for photography, film, e-commerce, advertising, branded content, campaign and other commercial briefs. If the casting does not fit neatly into one label, send it anyway.

01.03 What should I include in a talent brief?

Send as much of the following as you already know:

  • brand, agency or client
  • campaign or project
  • number and type of talent required
  • approximate look or age range
  • shoot date and location
  • expected shoot duration
  • photo, film or both
  • media, territory and usage period
  • budget range
  • moodboard, deck or visual references

Do not hold the enquiry back because one of those details is missing. A rough brief is enough to begin.

01.04 Can MRPD help shortlist talent around the brief?

Yes. You do not need to arrive with a specific model already chosen.

Tell us the audience, visual direction, role, approximate look, timing and usage. MRPD can use that information to shape a brief-led talent shortlist and confirm the relevant availability.

01.05 Do you handle talent bookings outside Melbourne?

Yes. MRPD is Melbourne based and works Australia-wide.

Location, travel and availability are handled as part of the individual brief, so include the intended shoot location when you enquire.

Commercial terms

Rates & Usage.

02.01 How much does it cost to book MRPD talent?

Talent pricing depends on the person and the booking, rather than one universal rate.

The fee can be affected by shoot duration, media usage, territory, usage period, exclusivity, travel, overtime and the nature of the work. Send the brief and MRPD can provide the relevant booking information.

02.02 What is usage and why does it affect the fee?

Usage describes where, how and for how long the finished photography or film will use the talent's likeness.

For example, organic social, paid advertising, e-commerce, retail, out-of-home and national campaigns can represent different levels of commercial exposure. Territory and the length of the usage period can also affect the booking fee.

02.03 What does exclusivity mean for a talent booking?

Exclusivity can restrict a talent from working with certain competing brands or within a defined category for an agreed period.

Where a client requests exclusivity, the category, territory and duration should be included in the brief because those restrictions can affect availability and pricing.

02.04 What if the dates, usage or budget are not final yet?

That is fine. Approximate information is still useful.

Send what is known and identify what is still provisional. The booking can be scoped around the current brief and updated when the final details are confirmed.

03
Behind the talent

Production.

03.01 Can MRPD handle the campaign production as well?

Yes. This is one of the advantages of the MRPD structure.

You can use MRPD Models for talent only, or keep casting, photography, film, creative direction and post-production within the same wider production system when the brief requires it.

03.02 Can I book talent without using MRPD for production?

Yes. Talent booking and production are separate services.

Brands, agencies, photographers, filmmakers and production teams can enquire about MRPD talent for work they are producing independently.

03.03 What production services does MRPD provide?

MRPD Production focuses on the image-making side of commercial work, including:

  • commercial and campaign photography
  • fashion, beauty and lifestyle photography
  • film and branded motion
  • creative direction
  • production planning
  • retouching, editing and post-production
03.04 How is production pricing calculated?

Production is quoted around the actual scope rather than forced into a generic package.

Shoot days, crew, studio or location, travel, equipment, talent, deliverables, editing, retouching and creative development can all affect the final production cost.

03.05 What if we only have a rough creative idea?

That is enough to start.

A finished deck is useful, but not required. Tell us what the campaign needs to achieve, who it is for and what needs to exist at the end. MRPD can help shape the visual direction and production structure from there.

04
For talent

Representation.

04.01 Are MRPD Models representation enquiries open?

Yes. Representation enquiries are open while MRPD builds its founding roster.

Representation enquiries are handled separately from client talent bookings and do not guarantee acceptance onto the roster.

04.02 What should I send with a representation enquiry?

Send your name, age, location, height, Instagram or portfolio and any relevant modelling or performance experience.

You can use the representation route on the contact page or email bookings@mrpd.au.

04.03 What does MRPD Models representation include?

Accepted talent receive portfolio development and representation support.

This can include portfolio photography, creative direction, image selection and curation, a digital comp card, an MRPD Models profile, professional presentation, client pitching, booking administration and ongoing representation.

04.04 What does MRPD Models representation cost?

Under the current standard MRPD Models structure, accepted talent purchase a one-time $500 Portfolio & Representation Setup Package for the portfolio and representation setup services provided.

MRPD then earns a 20% agency commission on qualifying work that MRPD introduces, sources, negotiates, books or materially manages, subject to the signed representation agreement.

04.05 Is MRPD Models representation exclusive?

The current standard MRPD Models representation structure is non-exclusive.

Represented talent may obtain genuinely independent work outside MRPD, subject to the terms of their signed agreement and MRPD's rights around clients or opportunities introduced by the agency.

04.06 Does representation guarantee bookings?

No. Representation does not guarantee bookings, minimum earnings or a particular career outcome.

MRPD can provide representation, portfolio development, marketing, pitching and booking support, but commercial opportunities depend on client briefs, market fit, availability and other factors outside the agency's control.
